Dear Girl Tech,
I'm starting to wonder if I can really trust my BFF. We used to be really tight, but lately she's been acting differently. Whenever I walk up to her and my other friends at school, they stop talking right away like they've been gossiping about me. She's also making excuses to not hang out with me. Worst of all, she's been saying hurtful things to my face and laughing about it like it's no big deal. What should I do?

Answer: The best thing to do in this situation is to communicate, instead of letting frustration and worry build up inside of you. Ask your friend if you did something to hurt her feelings or if something has been bothering her lately, and let her know how her attitude is making you feel. Talking about it should put you two back on track to being best pals. However, if she continues to treat you this way, she may not be as great a friend as you think, and you may need to seek out a new BFF.

Dear Girl Tech,
I love my Video Journal, but I'm having trouble when it comes to the poems and stories. Every time I start writing a poem, it just sounds silly, and I can't even think of any stories to write. What can I do to get over this writer's block?

Answer: First of all, remember that when it comes to writing poetry, it's all about self-expression. Your poems may be totally different from your friends', and that's totally fine. Try to think about the things that inspire you, or things that you have strong feelings about, and start writing about those. As for stories, the sky's the limit! Use your imagination, or use your own life experience as a starting point. Sometimes it helps to make a list of story ideas or to just start writing without worrying about whether or not every word is perfect. Those techniques can jumpstart your mind and lead you into loads of creativity. Good luck!
